About The Lils
The Lils started with a black cat adopted from a shelter by a family who fell completely in love on day one.
His name was Pishi. He was small, he was opinionated, and from day one he made it very clear that he had standards. So Daddy, a researcher and academic who optimizes things for a living, started asking the question most cat owners eventually ask: what is actually in this food?
The more he looked into it, the less he liked the answer. So he started cooking for Pishi instead. The recipes got better. Pishi got more enthusiastic. And at some point they thought: other cats deserve this too.
The Lils is a homemade cat food platform built by a cat dad who does the nutritional math and a cat mom who makes sure the rest of the world hears about it. Every recipe is developed with real rigor, the kind that involves actual research, not vibes, and tested by a chief taste tester who has never once left a bowl unfinished.
Our mission is simple: make real, research-backed homemade cat food accessible to every cat owner, one recipe at a time. We are not a pet food company. We are just a family who went all in for their cat and want to help you do the same.
Meet the team
Pishi
Chief Taste Tester
Pishi graduated Suma Paw Laude from the prestigious Purrinton Institute of Tastology, with a dual degree in Advanced Napping and Recreational Knocking Things Off Tables. He joined The Lils immediately after as Chief Taste Tester. Since then, not a single bowl has been left unfinished, not a single recipe has been turned down, and not a single nap has been skipped.
Daddy
Researcher & Chef
When Daddy formulates a recipe, he is not eyeballing it. He is running models, crunching nutritional data, and optimizing every single ingredient until the balance is just right. But what drives all of that rigor is not just science. It is love. The kind that makes you stay up late reading studies on taurine bioavailability because your cat deserves nothing less than the best. Most people do not bring this level of dedication to cat food. Daddy does. Pishi approves.
Mommy
The Voice
Professionally trained to make complex things run beautifully. Which explains why The Lils social media, filming, customer service, and operations all somehow happen at once without anything falling apart. She is the engine behind Pishi’s social life and his self-appointed number one fan. The title is not up for debate.
